But I wanted a card that is open for your own development. Unfortunately, running on these cards a proprietary operating system, which can be influenced only slightly. Except for a few parameters to adjust (such as the integration of the map into an existing WLAN network) design and website itself is not much more feasible. Since Toshiba has at least opened and offers a "developer website" to, in which they have some documented their proprietary solution. Granted, this is probably fine for most users already more than they ever want to do with it. For the envisaged use in cameras, it is probably OK (except for one problem - see below), for my purposes, that's not enough.
My angedachtes field of application is in the car. I want to insert the card into the car radio, and run a small script. And the car is parked in the garage and is connected to the home Wi-Fi, it will download from my home NAS already prepared in the house itself MP3s from a directory and install it on the map. That's a No with this card. (And therefore does not even support its own page like this map needs) on the other hand, Transcend cards already, because there is a Linux operating system and can be configured as any other Linux.
Unfortunately, the card also has a rather "rough" hook. If the device into which one inserts the card, the power supply will not boot fast enough, the internal operating system does not start and there is no wifi connection. One can also read the FAQ as the Developer page. Unfortunately, I also have a device where this is the case.
Such proprietary solutions are in my opinion nowadays no longer appropriate, and tells me that the company invested their efforts in the wrong place. So rather to use existing operating systems that everyone knows and uses (and therefore not have a website and documentation required) and the development efforts so to invest to make the hardware of the card more stable! Therefore, I can only give it 3 stars - but as I said my most personal opinions.
But I will keep only once and watch the further development - as "bare" SD card it is always ...
