Antenna used to replace the original antenna wireless access point of the same brand (TL-WA701ND). The original antenna is supposed to have a gain of 5 dB to 8 dB against it. Placed in the same place in the same position as the original antenna, I have not won in signal strength (tested from a laptop in another room of the house where the signal reception from the point of Access is average with the original antenna). Trying to orient differently, I may have done 3 or 4% better than the original antenna. The problem may be a lack of power of the terminal, but the terminal and antenna are the same brand, and TP-Link makes no recommendation as to an optional antenna. The TP-Link website says: "You will see the clear difference ... Note that the increase in signal strength depends mainly on your router or adapter: it is a plus, but it can not make or receive the power your modem or adapter does not have to start. " TP-Link should be clearer on what gain hope, in what conditions and with what product.
