In practice, this is about right. Not too complicated to configure.
By cons, my speed has dropped compared to my old router.
Comparing the old d-link router that is what I get:
D-Link: a very close connection of the Direct connection to the box. The router promises of 100 Mbps and operates at max capacity.
netgear: the flow is divided by 3. Not only am I far from the maximum flow of the box, but the more I does not reach the rate obtained with the theoretically slower d-link.
I tried several configurations, updated the firmware (which is still falling rate), troubleshooté a little while, switched several times between the two routers, nothing to do netgear is far from level.
Well, in practice it happens is not a disaster. But it's just disappointing to invest in hardware, thinking it'll be better, and actually, well, that's worse. I could have saved money by fending me otherwise.
Perhaps it is super well done on more specialized functions which I do not use it, but hey, the throughput is not bright, and it is the thing that interested me.
I think so, why not choose this router if you need 8 ports and we do not need a fast connection too. Adpanne what.
Otherwise, I tend to advise against.
