This is my second disk purchased from LaCie arrives defective within one year (the first was a Thunderbird 2 TB drive). I think the quality is not there (yet I was faithful to this brand), but the quality control seems to have big failures. I opened a support ticket with LaCie asking me to ship the item at my expense !!!! So I chose the return policy toll amazon. A big thank you to Amazon for packaging quality, responsiveness (automatic?) And free return (my new replacement drive is in transit while I have not even been posting my failed drive ...). I have no action at amazon, but, as usual, the service is impeccable.
