Does not work between all devices!

I bought this converter to my HDMI cable box with an old projector (Sony VPL PX31, XGA / 1024 * 768/4: 3, VGA, S-video and component connection - he also has composite, but this image transfer is so inferior that is at most a stopgap).
The converter has plug and play standard works the same way, however, came with the projector to only 800 * 600 and the 16: 9 screen of ORF HD (720p) was adjusted to 4: 3 stretched (suddenly are all slim and 3m tall). Since the projector unfortunately only for the video inputs (but not PC like VGA) may change the format, the converter for me was so useless.

Big compliment to the support of King Converter / Deluxecable that react really quickly and even on weekends to requests. Although we could not bring our different views agree why that does not work as expected, but the contact was always polite and tried.

In another review has already been noted, what was also told me from the Support: The converter can ONLY function faultlessly when the image display apparatus (projector, flat-screen TV) ABOUT NATIVE RESOLUTION HAS WHICH source emits !!!! Ie specifically when a 720p signal (HD channels) pure sends, the projector appropriate resolution 1280 * 720 must natively, ie 1: 1 may represent.

However, I still believe that 720p signals (such as noted in the description of my Sony projector) to be processed correctly. The older LCDs / plasma also often a HD Ready resolution under 1280 * 720 and can represent the signal (it is scaled down to the native resolution).

Converter king refused unfortunately an excited I exchange into a converter HDMI component, so I had my order somewhere else. And lo and behold, suddenly everything works as desired (720p projector will detect the format and fits well, the top and bottom black bars).

Perhaps the cause of my problem is to be found in the nature of the VGA connection standards or in the signal processing of my beamer. Based on the information in the projector manual and the article description everything should work.
Therefore, I only 3 stars, the (distorted and down projected) HD picture looked but of otherwise very good and there are plenty of other reviews where it works well (and I am sure that very few of these devices a native resolution of 1280 * 720 have, as these devices have then been mostly HDMI, and then you do not this converter).

So, to recommend the dealer principle, the converter also appears to be a good product, but does not stop with all appliances as desired.

Would be very grateful for a few thoughts of others knowing Amazon users, how they see the situation described.
