This product has not worked when I switched from Windows 7 to Windows 8 64-bit. Prolific on site, one can read the following info:
Windows 8 / 8.1 are NOT supported in PL-2303HXA and PL-2303X EOL chip versions.
The driver is installed but the device does not start (error code 10)
This is very well documented on many websites.
