fortunately has taken me only 1-2 hours to find out that:

1. the current Reiner driver software for Mac does not work with the Mavericks current Mac OS (already quite a feat, 9 months after Mavericks was made available to developers)

2. AusweisApp the Federal Office for Security in Information Service (Mac version) works with any of the major browsers on the Mac. Supposedly works Firefox 17 (currently 24). Could not be determined since Firefox 17 is not to be found on the Internet I. Thus, the identity card can not be used just for government services.

Have returned and annoyed me about my wasted life and the control millions that are wasted to develop non-functioning software the device.
