I love the development of Conor Oberst. Does he have a couple of years ago written deep-black sad texts, with very melancholic melodies, shows his latest work, why Conor when older-will still be heard and should. He is without question, alongside Jeff Tweedy, Mark Oliver Everett and Sufjan Stevens, one of the great songwriter, this time. And I think its really impressive changes. Just as much as I did at that time listened to the tremulous voice of a youth who told me about depression, addiction and hopeless love, just like I hear today the stories of a man of his life, his love, and some places of the world to appreciate White. A man who is inspired by spirituality and magic. One can still hold honest in wonderful picture words their fears and problems. Had "Cassadaga" nor his strength and surprise by the Country-felling and the bombastic participation of chorus and orchestra, as is Colonel subsequent work "Conor Oberst" from a simple band (Mystic Valley) and corresponding thereto instrumentation. Guitar, bass, drums, piano and occasionally the accompanying voices of fellow. The simplicity in this case is also equal to the pure beauty of this disc. From fast Country numbers on classic rock to tear-touching ballads, all twelve songs are more refined with a touch of pop. Every song manages to impress even alone-standing. So what was delivered here, is a very charming round thing that I've closed tight in my heart. This album would have even twenty years sooner or later may appear and would still be this grassroots great work what it is "2008". I'm sure.
