HDTune comparison:
WD Black 1.5TB: Avg. Access 141MB / s with 11ms
WD Blue 1TB (ours): Avg. Access 154mb / s in 15,8ms
Have a spare machine nor a WD 500GB AAKS with running (also Blue), which has been running for several years without any problems and also a lot quieter than the Black. Had between a Seagate 1TB which was as quiet and even a bit faster, but gave up the ghost after a very short time.
Would this model buy if required immediately, which is next to speed and volume also priced to beat (at the time) almost - 5 star minimum!
[Update 6/26/14]
Well, the best time is past time, after about 1.5 years they were then the ghost: first only frequent Consistent checks at start, then blue screens and now a Read Disc Error, no more Windows Start possible. ,
Error with DLGDIAG WD 0225 "too many bad sectors", WD written, instantly friendly contact from Holland, disk may be returned.
Data from the second partition I could copy down, formatting the next day has not worked, no longer have access ..
That the HDD "only" average 2-3 hours a day running, the service life of me has been clearly insufficient and would therefore deduct 2 star, which is still "good" means, for the super-friendly and support the existing settlement's however again a star :) it.
[Addendum 9:11:14]
The transfer plate begins now to make spec = delayed> Windows Start, sporadic access problems or no feedback when copying, even though it was only used as a monthly backup plate;
Conclusion: the time she ran, she was perfect for me, but by these failures, it is of course useless, so I give her now only 2 stars, shame ..
