First of all: Yes it is!
I've already used the TV app from Elgato on the iPhone:
1. Problem is, things have to be always the MAC, otherwise no signal is transmitted and
2. Problem is, the transmission often times tears off, jerky and thus is not much fun.
So far, I could not decide this little box to buy, since it has been put to me the question of what is there now to be better than in my previous solution? And now I can say: It is better EVERYTHING!
The box arrived 2 days ago at me. Unwrapped, connected power supply, connected to the router plugged into my analog cable, software installed on the notebook, scanning starts ... First fright: there are no channels found. Again looked briefly in the manual and found: Dual-Tuner's something other than hybrid tuner. One need DVB-T reception, otherwise nothing runs. Since I live in the DVB-T boundary zone and the router on the ground far away from any Reception possibilities is had to find another solution. Our house is on 3 floors (+ a small attic) and my printer-fax combo on the first floor was already connected via dLAN 200 to the router.
So get connected with the box in the attic via dLAN to the router, which included small DVB-T antenna placed at the highest point, re-tuning and behold, about 30 stations to be received. Software installed on my Revo 100 and the Windows Media Center included (all fine) and in the living room, I can now receive (in much better quality) in addition to analog cable and DVB-T. Advantage dual tuner: you can record a program and watch another program simultaneously.
Now quickly launched the iPhone app, EyeTV Netstream DTT is recognized ... but no image, because the app crashes immediately. So, at first the App reinstalled (iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.3) with the same results ... Now what? On the Elgato web page a firmware update is available. Unfortunately, the box does not load itself down (eg the Fritz boxes), you have to download yourself, unzip and install (for instructions on the Elgato page). Side note: the password for the box is in delivery status 0000 ", you need to install With the new firmware works then the TV reception on the iPhone (smoothly and without dropouts, etc.) But what one must not forget..: the channel list must be transferred to the box, otherwise runs on the iPhone nothing.
What you absolutely need is a Mac or PC, otherwise you do not get the installation back because the configuration of the box via the web interface is only a very limited extent. What you should keep in mind: the dual tuner only supplied 2 "taps" at the same time (ie see TV + 1x 1x record TV or watch TV 2x). When the this solution is considered the best, which is to me come across so far.
