In addition, the unfolding of the narrative in itself remains desperately flat with classical succession: Murder / Survey / Privacy investigator.
This is typically the kind of history with which we have a good time but I have very quickly forgotten ... And if the author has bet all the originality of the story through his protagonist, the Commander Verhoven, 1m45 is fairly light.

If it persists disappointment peak is due to the expectation that I had this book at the end of "Married Dress" unjustified expectation, I admit, especially as Job Soigné is earlier.
One last tip: Read this book that although classic, is pleasant to read, then read "Married Dress" by the same author.
Note that Pierre Lemaître just released the very promising "Black Frames".
