I wish to make my first impressions and experiences through the electronic thermo-hygrometer TFA 30.5014.02 Company TFA Dostmann here.
Shortly beforehand, the ordering process and the delivery via Amazon went easily and smoothly as one would expect.
So I have now bought four weeks prior to six of these units from Amazon to these throughout the house, preferably in the basement to set up. I am concerned primarily about seeing how high the humidity and how quickly these increases after airing or the use of a dehumidifier (in the basement) again. So you can, especially in winter or in the basement, airing short time and turn on the Dehumidifiers before the mold has a chance.
Now on to the device. The case makes a high impression. You can show a clip on the back and thus just stand your device (eg on a shelf) or pulling out a small metal bracket and hangs it on a nail in the wall. It is also a magnet attached to the back, which allows you to attach the part also to a metallic surface (no stainless steel or aluminum).
After inserting the included button cell battery powers the device is ready for operation. Below are the temperature in degrees Celsius (or Fahrenheit, if desired) and the rel. Humidity in%. However, it can then take some time until the device has acclimatized to the current temperature or humidity in the room, depending on how large the differences between indoors and outdoors are, finally a good piece was indeed a long time in the packet traveling.
Of course I read the existing reviews before buying and also registered that some buyers are dissatisfied with the alleged inaccuracy or the reaction time. So I go erected on all six units in my basement workshop in a row and only 24 h, no longer looked at. During the subsequent comparison I've seen only one unit had a variation in the humidity of 5% to the other. All other five units were separated only by +/- 1%. At the temperature every six devices were up to a few tenths apart degree. For me, this result is within the serial dispersion.
I then set up all the equipment in my office to see if the behavior of the readings will change with each serious in warmer environment. Do not do it! One unit retained its tolerance of 5% for humidity. So device marks and therefore it is good! I will add that just added more 5% in humidity.
The devices are now so four weeks ago spread into my house around and show me the very good climatic conditions in my surroundings. If it is too moist, eg in the kitchen or office, window wide, shock-aired short and hey presto falls humidity sometimes just by 10-20%, depending on how the weather is outside. The temperature drops here of course with some delay, since the entire environment, such as furniture and walls, the heat store much longer than the short airing lost can go. Therefore, it is after the close of the window in a very short time warm again, but it is dry.
Conclusion: For me, the thermo-hygrometer served its purpose, as it should be.
