Foreword
-----------
In my reviews I test possible in the first place the items into the background, if I have received also what the advertising promised. Of course similar products from other manufacturers, the estimate I also serve, if an innovative product or the same output there is a very inexpensive product or a product has particular unique selling points.
Introduction & Specifications
--------------------------------------------
Below I would like to talk about my experiences with the external battery pack "Pilot Plus" by the manufacturer POWERADD. The battery pack is intended by the manufacturer have a capacity of 20,000mAh. It comes with a micro-USB cable with significantly larger cross-section than is usually the case, which actually permanently over 2A charge current can be ensured. There are 2 devices charged in parallel, with a USB port 1A and the second delivers 2.4A.
First, I have the battery 3 times fully charged and discharged. Charging takes a long time already a lot in terms of capacity, so the battery is charging at a current intensity of between 1.6 and 1.2 amps and requires good 15h until it is completely full. That's a very good value. But what he delivers to energy? In addition I have several of my devices to the battery using a USB power meter charged until the battery "empty" was. Important to know here is that the manufacturer of external batteries almost always refer to the capacity indicated on the 3.7V internal batteries. In the "Pilot Plus" does not seems to be different because it has a total of about 5V always located at several Entladevorgänen between 14.200mAh and 14.600mAH. The "down-sampled" to 3.7V corresponds to max. 19.730mAh. So almost a precision landing in the specifications of the external battery from PowerAdd.
Compared I own some 10.000mAh batteries that come to just under 9.100mAh and thus significantly further deviate from the manufacturer's instructions.
For this there are 5 stars for the PowerADD "Pilot Plus".
Handling & Functionality
--------------------------------------------
Use no special challenges. After connecting the device to be charged once pressed the button for the start of charging and the battery is already active. Once over in few minutes no further energy extraction takes place, the battery switches off. There are external batteries that continues to load devices connected and they are therefore virtually always maintained at 100% charge. The first seems comfortable, but not do battery and reduces their lifetime. The "Pilot Plus" takes this into account and only by renewed manual switch connected devices to be recharged.
I like that very well, even here there are 5 star.
Design & Quality
-------------------------
The battery is kept in black and provided the top of the housing with a very pleasing structure. The housing is properly processed, with no sharp edges or gaps.
Otherwise, the case is very smooth, which means that the battery can slip. In the case I turn the structure down, resulting in more stability. A few anti-slip pads as standard accessories could create easily remedy.
On this point, I forgive 4 of 5 stars.
Conclusion
-------
The "Pilot Plus" is very well made and offers more than enough power to various devices to be able to charge several times.
However, a capacity of 20,000mAh is in my view just makes sense, since the charging process may still be "housed" within a day.
The "Pilot Plus" of PowerADD I recommend fully at this point and forgive in total 5 Stars.
