The 2443BW is convincing. Important to know is that the monitor does not start immediately after using the power key back in the housing, it has additionally the Power icon is touched again.
Positives:
+ The Stand is very stable and the display can be positioned optimally in every direction
+ The housing is matt black and well finished (no piano lacquer)
+ The power consumption is 42 W for 90% brightness, 60% for only 33 W and for 24% it is 25 W is very low (measured by Energy Check 3000) for this screen size
+ The response times convincing for most games, the drift for movies
+ Under the display is still enough room for a speaker (interesting for 5.1 & 7.1 systems)
+ Movies in 720 / 1080p real fun with this monitor
+ The colors look very natural, provided they were properly calibrated (calibration software is mitgelifert)
+ Good contrast
Neutral:
- The control panel does not have any buttons, and responds to touch, which is not so easy to get used to as it sounds, especially if it is dark (it would be advisable if the manufacturer would do it by touch), fortunately you can monitor just as good on Setting Software
- Black acts in the dark holding up some details and go in the black under (at least the last one can readjust, but black depth as compared to expensive plasma or adaptive TFTs can not be expected)
Negatives:
- The viewing angle dependence is strong, in particular vertical, so that is the pivot function is more for Masochists
- Poor illumination at the edges, which you can tell by film beams and black background, something bothers only films with grief beams
- A little more Einstelmöglichkeiten in color temperature and Gamawert than 3 in OSD would be desirable
- The two calibration programs bring my Vista Ultimate 32-bit crash, but individually they work
Due to the good price / performance-Verhältnises and good energy efficiency 5 star are think I justified. The adaptation to the viewing angle I really like (professorial ioneles level).
