At the moment the SEL35f18 is more than three times as expensive as the Sigma 30mm 2.8 I had been - on a NEX5. It's also three times as well? Of course not, that is not at all. Visually, the Sigma is well known, very good, that I can confirm. One star deduction for the oversized price difference. For a stage aperture more, something faster start (when you turn or change of image viewing on recording) I would normally pay 1.5 to 2 times the price, not the 3.5 times the price ... But the NEX system restricts the selection compact (= non-adapted) AF lenses a ... So I have ever tried with this lens - and I'm thrilled. One step more aperture opened low light situations which were closed for the Sigma. The bokeh in opening 1.8 is fantastic and again a different dimension than the Sigma at 2.8. And finally no longer klackert the Sigma inner tube with every move when turned off ... I have always told me that the clicking is cosmetic and therefore do not care ... it's not - it has always bothered me. The pain of the high price were surprisingly quickly forgotten. From the image result here I am now (with NEX and 35mm) where I was with my Nikon D90 and Nikkor 35mm 1.8 once again - so the optimum for my standards ... but just much, much more compact.
