1.) My requirements
I wanted a device that you can use as a tablet in order, for example, quickly look up something, but also to times Facebook messages / emails / Office
to use, without needing to to the PC, or without unnecessary to type long on the smartphone screen. The Solution
here from Lenovo with the keyboard dock is here quite well achieved, more on this below.
Another criterion is that I can erleidigen smaller working with the device, eg Office / Excel etc. or (longer) videos on Youtube,
read longer messages / texts etc, just the things that can be done only on PC partly because comparable platforms (Android, iOS) for not
are designed or are simply overtaxed. Before I purchased it, I wanted to get either the goals Trek people rod or Odys Wintab 10.
2.) Negative
Anticipation to all potential buyers a few warnings. The product description on Amazon is partly defective, here is some important information:
-Windows 365 - free use> 1 year the Office package, then as an alternative for 10 euros a month rent, the Office package, or install eg Office 2007,2010,2013.
-No USB port! The device has but a Micro USB port, through which you can simply connect as USB sticks via Adaper because I do not know
as like Amazon sees links to other products in reviews, I post my adapter "buy recommendation" on demand in the comments!
-for part questionable bloatware and third-party "software" for me was beside apps that can easily uninstall eg billiger.de app, also partly questionable
Bloatware here (an app that in the browser "fesetzt" and occasionally displays advertising when a tab is open, can be in Windows Desktop mode but uninstall ...)
-No GPS (does not bother me personally, but I often read that the device is said to have GPS)
3.) compromises / Neutral
~ The Type Cover (keyboard) can only be set up at an angle, but by the material (rubber) and the flat bearing surface really slippery and balances this out again.
~ Keyboard is a bit strange, because for reasons of space "compressed" certain keys so slightly smaller / have been moved, the numeric keys are slightly
transferred right, I'm out of my PC otherwise usual ... can sometimes happen that a mistake ....
~ No physical "Home" button, in contrast to other devices of the same price class (eg Trek gates folk Tablet, Odys Wintab, ~ 200 euros)
~ Speaker is left on the back and the like to keep covered with your fingers
~ Front camera is 2.0 megapixels with sufficient for eg video chat in Skype, unfortunately no rear camera!
~ Compromise on the aforementioned "problem" with Office, either one still has a license for Office 2007,2010,2013 -alternativ eg OpenOffice / LibreOffice is free
3.) Positive
Price-Performance-wise, you can just ask for no device for 300 euros, that as good as a surface is, but it is "running" but very neat.
+ Touch Screen is precise
+ Docking Station is on good, as are the pressure points of the keyboard are properly
+ Bluetooth works fine and allows zBKoppelung to Bluetooth mouse (on demand link mouse in comments the review), or data exchange
with, for example, have the Bluetooth smartphone (in my Android 4.1.1) or general linking to other devices / gadgets
+ System is stable and apps / programs open quickly
+ Full HD IPS panel (display) provides good viewing angle
+ As soon as discharge when the device is in standby or off
+ Machine moves very quickly go up to eg restart, less than 20 seconds, starting in about 10 seconds, standby almost immediately
+ Expandable memory through MicroSD card
+ Just all the benefits that brings a Windows OS with it, assume that everyone has a Android / Ios smartphone should know the advantages of a PC
Vearbeitet + Schön and not creaks
+ Battery life between 5-7 hours of continuous use, depending on the brightness and programs running (eg when browsing / reading it is relatively economical)
+ Charging by MicroUSB port (you can also connect the device to a power bank for example)
+ Initial setup for me was when Windows 8.1 "newbie" surprisingly easy
+ Fully-fledged Windows 8.1 "Bing" (simply means the Bing the default search engine is, can be easy to change)
+ Splitscreen or Dekstop mode convinced me and is one of the reasons for buying have been
4) Additional information
Maybe it's a bit exaggerated here of a "full" replacement for a PC or laptop to talk, but who can live with a few flaws here gets a "Convertible Notebook" which the
Deserved name, especially if you connect a Bluetooth mouse, it's almost like a laptop. Interesting info on the edge, after I upgrade Java, I installed Minecraft
and it also works surprisingly quite good if you makes a few settings (FPS, down effects). My recommendation is also McAfee (AntiVirus) either
to purchase or uninstall it, this trial but here's my opinion unnecessary and interferes. You can also install free Avast eg / Avira / costs, the fuktioniert better.
I also recommend the three star review here of "D. Haak," perhaps provides a few other interesting angle / alternatives.
Since I unfortunately do not have a comparison device (eg Surface) I would not like to compare it with him, but the performance is simply not enough (is not designed for it)
but the design of the device is still modeled on the Surface and for the price, it is also what you get tidy ....
The Miix 3-1030 is a simple device, anything that is not absolutely necessary has not been installed (rear camera and other interfaces are "missing") that you should also know.
At present I will evaluate the device with 5 stars, but with 2 pressure-closed eyes because a few things like the item description (here) were wrong or because you have a few hours
investing needs to uninstall the pre-installed "software", is simply unnecessary Frickelei, do not understand why you can not clean Windows extradite (probably brings money ...)
If my opinion changes / or if there are problems, I will insert from here UPDATES, or after some time the review complete, (as the beginning of December 2014).
5.) Conclusion
For people who "something more" than a tablet like, but not a laptop is like to recommend this "hybrid solution", just as I can each generally want to buy a Tablet
fond place at least on the merits of Windows 8.1 ponder, perhaps interesting for students or people who the Surface but appeals it can not afford / want.
Since I have a "good" smartphone, most functions of Android / Ios Tablets for me is not important (camera, games apps and the like), the Lenovo is but one
conventional tablet apart from these points to none and provides Windows with just a much better user interface or generally better programs (eg Office).
