I bought the projector about a week ago and was now able to thoroughly test it.
After I first DLP projector (Benq W1070) had, but this had to go back because of massive existing with me rainbow effect, I am very satisfied.
I do not want to speak too long even ... Therefore, I come straight to the point :)
Benefits:
- The projector is very small
- The attachment points are the thread forth by standard and are also in the right places
- The brightness is great even in the ECO mode!
- The dust shield I personally find very useful. There are enough people with wood ceilings where the dust just so trickles from the ceiling. Since it may be useful to the projector when not in use to protect the diaphragm (PS:... - Ceiling mounting is made possible and quickly.
- The price is great for a full HD projector with 3D functionality.
- 3D => Tried with Titanic 3D and Avatar 3D. Bottom line is: madness. With the right glasses () the picture looks razor-sharp, and the black level Ruckelfrei forth something better. Of that I am absolutely thrilled.
- The lamp life is in ECO mode with 6000 hours absolutely fine. More importantly ... the replacement lamps cost at Epson for this projector under 100!
Neutral:
- The horizontal keystone correction, which can be made to the unit outside have their place, but they should not. In my view complete nonsense. The projector must be aligned absolutely in the center of the screen at the top (for ceiling suspension) or bottom edge (with normal installation). You waste a lot of other image quality.
Disadvantages:
- Many play here in the reviews down the volume. But I must say that it is audible. Normal film look is possible only in Eco mode. In "high lamp mode" can it not really "hear". That just is not fun. Therefore important: the projector as far away as you possibly can hang from the seat. I would not have his head on the sofa :)
- The black level is in LCD projectors always a bone of contention ... I personally think it's "OK" but not great. Since the black of the DLP projector was better. But for now I have no more rainbow effect :) That was disturbing to some. If you are planning to buy this projector it is important that you can darken the space provided from behind and from the side of good. In Eco mode, otherwise contours disappear into each other in dark scenes of the film. It looks simply no longer good and fall, no matter how exciting it is to.
Conclusion:
For 600 In this version, for people who are sensitive to the rainbow effect, absolutely suitable. Do you have any problems with DLP projectors and their effects on the rapid eye ... buy a DLP projector. The better black level is worthwhile in any case. Hence 4 points :)
I'll report back in a few months. The device is used with us as a TV replacement and gets so very quickly a lot of hours on his back :) Then you have also take a long-term test here. So far, here are quick reviews after purchasing it.
UPDATE 17/03/2015:
Now that I've seen a few weeks, unfortunately I had to realize that a greenish-acting spot has surfaced in black scenes on the right side. At first I thought it was dust that has settled on the LCD panel. But this is not so. Therefore, today I have returned the device to EPSON and let the rework on warranty or whichever it is replacing. I will of course report whether and how fast the error of ESPON is repaired. So far I have not received any info. That will think I take a few days until I get an info here.
UPDATE 29/03/2015:
My Beamer came now after about 1 1/2 weeks back from the repair. Already on Friday, 03/27/2015 I was able to mount it on the ceiling and align. The error in the image has been fixed on warranty. Stands on the job description that the entire optical unit of the projector has been replaced. In principle, therefore super run. Of course, if not optimal, as a brand new Beamer not really should as soon see a repair shop inside. But well what the heck. I have my projector again and am very satisfied. Incidentally, the new firmware version has been deployed in the repair.
