Next was important to me:
Personal ringtones for each contact
Photo of the caller when he calls
Camera
Alarm
Birthday reminder
So I have not had any major claims.
Now for my experience:
First Impression:
Little box for 1 phone, 1 charger, which is also the same USB cable, Charger, 1 Headset (with normal headphone jack plug!) And 1 manual. The mobile phone was already provided SD card with a 2GB. Class!
Quick unpacked and connected for charging. After 2 hours the battery was full.
Appearance: Silver, brushed, chic design, no protection for the camera lens.
Ringtones / Picture Phonebook:
On the device Android 1.6 was that I updatete the same day to 2.1. Was a bit fiddly and I needed quite a long time, but the device has the software update easily accepted. Unfortunately, the 'Personal ringtone' feature was immediately gone, which still gave up 1.6 (maybe it is - hidden somewhere - even at 2.1, but I have not found). A brief search on the Internet put her free app 'Ringdroid' fond. A fantastic tip, because you cut even with this program the music tracks and save them as music, alarm clock, notification or Rufzeichenton can. Genial!
After I had the photos taken from my old phone to the LG, I was able to immediately assign my contacts and my first two claims were met.
Screen Design:
Under Android 2.1 in LG homescreen mode are a 5 pages available, where you can set up as desired widgets or shortcuts to applications. So you can eg. B. on the home page to display a clock or a memo or or. But simply press and hold the screen to appear checkmarks. If you want to put an application on the Home screen, holding down the desired application until it appears on the homescreen page on which you were last. Squandered? No problem, just press the icon long and then slide to the bottom of the screen. Since then appears a trash can icon.
I like that I can decide quite freely what and how many symbols I want to have available on the screens.
Apps:
I am not one to 'unnecessary stuff' (yes, that's very subjective) draws on the phone, so I have downloaded only apps that z. B. indicate system status (battery, memory), make automatic virus checks, with I can uninstall apps again or show me which programs running in the background, so that I can close it. After all, the fewer programs are used, the longer the battery lasts. The pre-installed program "Market" help here in finding.
Screen:
I first had to find out where I easily and where I have to press harder. I can not complain, the response times, even 'jerky' in me nothing. Write SMS When I sometimes have a wrong letter in it, but that can be corrected quickly indeed. I use the phone the way most comfortable with a small pin, I find easier to handle.
Sound:
The sound is the phone very well.
Camera:
The camera is not particularly. As soon as the object to be photographed only moved slightly, the image is blurred. But for snapshots in good weather it will be rich and I have anyway always a 'real' digital camera with me.
Alarm:
The alarm is available as a widget and can be programmed intuitively.
Birthday Reminder / calendar:
Although I 'In Insert calendar' clicked at each contact, this has not happened. An Internet search was that this is a common problem with Android. So I sat down and the dates manually entered. Sure, you can manage everything via Gmail, but - as I said - I do not necessarily so on the internet. Can be reminded to be in front of one week before the deadline to 10 minutes. This applies to all appointments that one enters in the calendar. The calendar I like the way very well and I have my paper calendar now disposed of.
Keylock:
Well, I think that you can either use the normal key lock (lock icon to the right drag across the screen) or choose a separate unlock. This prevents (so far it does easily) that solves the key lock by itself.
Cost / Internet:
I'll buy myself no Internetflat for mobile phones, but I use it just too little traveling and constantly updated apps I do not need. But when I'm at home, I log into our private wireless network and can then or similar apps download. That costs me nothing and even works without a SIM card.
Battery life:
For me, two apps running constantly in the background: 'Open Advanced Task Killer' and 'Lookout'. Every now and then I send an SMS, save an appointment or watch how late it is. On average, the mobile consumed in this way 10-15% of the battery in 12 hours. With moderate use the battery lasts so easy 4 - 5 Days.
Stability:
The phone has fallen to me on the first day 2 x from the table on the laminate floor. The first time, came off the battery cover, the second time everything was as it should.
Conclusion:
I can only agree with many of my Vorrezensenten: This mobile phone is ideal for smartphone newcomers. I am impressed by what such a small part of it all. It is fun and in most cases can be operated intuitively. Absolute buy recommendation!
SUPPLEMENTARY after 3 months usage:
One star deduction because
1. SMS without writing pen is nearly impossible
2. The alarm function is absolutely unreliable
Addendum on 20/06/2011: mistake on my part. It is up to the app "Advanced Task Killer", which turns off the alarm if you do not set the wake-up app to the ignore list of Task Killers ... I learn every day ...
3. No distinction can be made between SMS Benachrichtungston and z. B. Kalendererinnerungston
