As part of my usual Rechwerche I am then very quickly to the AVM FRITZ! WLAN Repeater DVB-C and the opportunity encountered to look at two different terminals, two different TV programs at the same time. Here I saw a good addition to the IPTV with 50 channels, which I use otherwise. I an on my network in addition to Windows PCs even more Android devices (phones u.Tablets), and 3 Raspberry Pi (2x OpenELEC / XBMC, 1x Raspbmc) and a Z-Box ID41 with XBMCbuntu have in use, I was of course solution that works across platforms, especially important.
Yesterday I finally came to the to install a few days here lying around AVM FRITZ! WLAN Repeater DVB-C:
The installation under Windows was a little time consuming and annoying as they did not follow this, as indicated in the manual. I had to make the device after the installation only with a network scanner locate because it was reached neither with the link provided by AVM was still detectable in the router menu. Once found, but it ran without any problems after that.
The DVB-C repeater has quickly found all the channels with my Unitymedia port. You can actually create an M3U list and save it locally on different devices. With the VLC player immediately the channel list will appear when you open this file in order. If you then click on a selected channel, this also sets off immediately.
In XBMC, the M3U file was only from version 1.9.3. Open IPTV Simple Client. But this may also be because I have the whole installed on my ZBox ID41 with XBMCbuntu and not on the Raspberry. For runs with this version everything exactly as hoped.
I especially think that you can play really cross-platform network streams now, and I have personally this Mac Os Kram not gtestet ... but for Windows, Linux and Android, I can including the respective associated XBMC / KODI versions expressly confirm.
The quality may be seen by the way and is just as good as with my Sundtech Media TV Pro III DVB-C card, the Fritz! DVB-C Receiver still brings 3 distinct advantages:
1. The repeater amplifies even further the WLAN network
2. The double-tuner makes it possible to look at two different terminals, but also two different TV programs at the same time.
3. All drivers stories fall away.
The AVM FRITZ! WLAN Repeater DVB-C for me was so absolutely no bad buy, but which is to be assumed that the price will continue to fall and yet the unit still works better through future firmware updates or receives additional functions.
The point deduction is available for the cumbersome installation, which was described in the me ultimately carried out the form anywhere. Inexperienced users would come here for sure in greater difficulties, as well as the restricted Konfiguratiosmöglichkeitren in "Lan-bridge". But this is all nothing that would not be remedied with a firmware or software update by AVM.
