One and a half days later (very early morning) of my order is already here:
- Packaging (as announced) damaged, no problem
- (To my opinion) provided screen clean and with plenty of plastic to protect the piano lacquer housing
Scratches were indeed also mentioned some, I could see, however, not a single, not even tiny.
Appearance does the screen really chic, the design (important for me) speaks to me and also corresponds to the photo. However, the figure does NOT correspond, in the case of my S22D390Q the stand: that is unfortunately how some fears and not currently / square. Annoys me a bit, but oh well, at something you get used to. Impractical in view of an optimal utilization of space, I find this yet.
And while we're at the stand: Could that really be so shaky? Even when assembling I thought to myself: one screw is to provide the thin piece between the foot and the screen for a firm stand? But it is no wonder that the reviewers complain about it! ... The reality is then, however, that the screen, despite leg Gewippe with hands on the table does not wobble really strong, to not at all. My predecessor, the Packard Bell Viseo 230WS, already stable on his leg, this Samsung is not far behind him. Clear can also wiggle strong, but not normally, we start from.
The screen then finally with an HDMI cable, which I ordered on suspicion (thankfully) separately (included was a VGA cable), connected through my AV receiver to my MacBook Pro, now everything works without any complaints.
Absolutely perfectly, because I see neither a gray stripes, yet I take the black border around true. While writing this review I imagine, the black border to detect (all around) - but this is not part of the resolution that no loss is clearly in 1920 * 1080 pixels.
One thing struck me, however, immediately: so beautiful new colors now seemed, everything seemed a bit too dark. Do not know if that was because of the intermediary AV receiver, after a manual calibration on the computer I got the screen dressed me. All the best now.
Game Mode I have also tried: For my computer absolutely horrible! Immediately shut down again. Too high contrasts, make them look highly oversubscribed (at least in League of Legends) the image. On the Playstation 3 (WipEout HD Fury) I could not identify any significant differences from the "normal" image, because the Game Mode is not worth really.
Very satisfied do me the few touch-sensitive controls on the front bottom right, the blue LED (for ON) does not bother me. Too bad I can only find that we are on this screen (as probably in pretty much any other current screen) still not arrived at the details of operation in the 21st century. The usage may be "easy", but too complicated and out of date. (Which means, clearly, the menu is self-explanatory and you know how you have to use the "arrow keys" to select - in times of smartphones and tablets, the user interface, however, is a joke)
Very positive, I also think the price of (me) about ~ 110 for a screen that I like very much.
My flaws that lead to deduction of points from a star, are:
- VGA cable instead of HDMI
- Round base instead of square
- A fan of external power supplies I am not
- Stale UI
- Game Mode unnecessary (for me)
- Too much plastic !!! (Is directed more likely on Amazon)
IMPORTANT: I have taken much trouble to enumerate criticisms. At this point I would like to point out that this "defect" from me be seen as a ridiculous, which is why they care less for a deduction of points, but more for not full 5 stars. Because the device is great, I am satisfied so far and it can after the first 24 hours fully recommend! I'm considering a Tower zuzulegen, I would not hesitate to buy a second!
