I've bought a new Samsung Notebook (Series 3) in December 2012. This was already equipped with 4GB DDR3 SDRAM (which actually lasts). ... But after the RAM prices absolutely yes "in the closet" are (as of 12/2012) I did not hesitate and ordered me about Amazon This kit 2x4GB for this ridiculous 35, -EUR incl. shipping. The memory came relatively well packaged (in retail packaging). The installation was easy (a screw, the old memory module out and the new 2 pure - Duration: less than 5 minutes). Then started the notebook and the memory was immediately recognized correctly. Runs stable since then and no problems.
CONCLUSION: 4GB would have been enough - I have not yet managed to more than about 45% of 8GB "fully to get" (and since I had to test run about 15 programs - among other things, the Internet Explorer with 10 levels, the same with Firefox, 2 Videos run at + MP3's and much more (all in parallel). Nevertheless, I showed the Windows 7 Memory widget only an occupancy rate of 45%. But to have in memory prices and with the feeling now ne good reserve, It was nevertheless a good decision.
Can recommend the Corsair Value RAM with a clear conscience.
