Since I often use my Nikon D800 from the tripod and thus make panoramas, was no quick-release plates than with dovetail guide in question, the Cross-manufacturer compatibility for me. When I use a panoramic head Novoflex system, my ball head is of Benro that fits Sirui plate to two and probably all other manufacturers that use this system.

The only slight improvement that I would have liked would have been a center line on the edge, so that I could center the clamping easier, but with a little key, it goes without sufficiently precise.
