Fourth volume of the saga A Song of ice and fire, this suite lets us hungry while distilling the action we sparingly. It follows the adventures of some characters only, and chapters gradually unveil an unexpected conclusion. The characters are always interesting, always present the twists and plots and other royal pettiness lead to fatal outcomes suspected. If we often wonder where some chapters lead us, we must keep in mind that everything tells Martin has a purpose and all previously published volumes are just the introduction of a larger story. We feel more and more the tension rises, one feels even more crucial events and the first 4 volumes give the impression of being only a preamble. The suspense is at its peak at the end of volume.
