This disc of 19 tracks (shorter than two pieces by rapprort original concert -Pieces available on vinyl !! Version -) is filled flush mouth for our delight.
The Columbia Georgian origin that date will have fun and interpret everything-or almost-acoustic set and déliverant a concert full of emotion and feeling. All the feelings of studio albums thus tenfold. The English public, wise as usual gentle and passionately follows the captivating music of Katie Melua.
The classics are of course with go like "Piece by Piece", "Mary Pickford", "The Closest Thing To Crazy," the subtle and very bluesy "Blues In The Night" and "Nine Million Bicycles".
On this live performer Katie Melua to his own tracks, those of its composer Mike Batt (songwriter and English producer) -which Katie discovered while searching for an artist capable of singing "jazz and blues exciting way" -) and some times including the superb "On The Road Again" sung masterfully by Katie. And then there is also this "Kosmic Blues" potent compound there long by Janis Joplin.
Its musicians held throughout the set a warm groove, which further raises the quality of the show and the level of interpretation. "You Were A Sailboat I" gives chills on "Lilac Wine" where Katie finds himself almost alone, we think with joy too soon died prodigy Jeff Buckley as the maid operates with intensity and emotion his vocal cords. God would have been good to hear them sing a duet.
Do not forget to mention "Perfect Circle" and its 7 minutes of happiness and touching "The Closest Thing To Crazy".
