This book is clear, comprehensive, well illustrated in detail. The technical explanations are perfect, no sales pitch or omissions. There is a chapter on the types of fabric, nature and weaving. But also how to iron a piece while working, all the details. I sew to the machine for a long time, I bought this book for my daughter but I can still make my profit of reading. This is not because these bases it is simplistic. It is a book top of the line sewing. It would complete the module with a real small projects that allow to apply all the techniques that are shown "for real".
