Since I am happier and more satisfied owner of a Swiss Champ for many years and was able to test it as an outdoor freak and hobbyists already on many trekking tours and in everyday life extensively, I immediately thought of a Victorinox knife. Since the Swiss Champ but is not exactly a lightweight and thus is only "belt bag fit", I was looking for a more manageable alternative.
I wondered what features I had used more frequently and are therefore important to me:
Large blade, scissors, saw, pliers with wire cutter, file, screwdriver, tweezers, corkscrew (very important ;-)) and opener are indispensable for me. Very nice are also the awl, the small wood chisel, precision screwdrivers and pens.
The Victorinox-model range, the handyman turned for me represents the best compromise, the essential functionalities and the majority of the "nice" functions are available. The lack of precision screwdrivers can be retrofitted as a spare part, only the pens is missing ... For the Handyman is significantly lighter and slimmer and is in practical use better in your hand. For me, clearly a very good alternative ...
And what can I say - even when the loved one the knife was very well received. She has daily and was able this little everyday helpers also on several occasions used very successfully ...
