Excellent FPS January 1

Available since yesterday in some stores I must admit that I bought it completely on a whim and when I got home I was hoping not to have the same disappointment with Duke Nukem Forever and much good has taken me because this game is a real gem.

For regulars of Fear (opus several already being pulled as Fear 1 & 2 as well as add-ons: Fear Files, Project Origin) the game focuses on the two main characters of the series: the 2 brothers Paxton Fettel and Point Man to know their history and also the link they have with their mother Alma. The game is divided into several missions that you can play with Fettel (be supernatural haunting Point Man after it killed him) once the mission ended with Point Man (Fighter superhuman reflexes).

The game has a level system that you can switch to multi but also during the campaign by completing challenges (do a certain number of headshots, kill 20 enemies without taking damage, killing a number of enemies while in slow motion, etc). These same levels give you access to improvements (Life Gauge that regenerates faster, able to carry more ammunition and grenades, etc). This simple idea pushes up the level to unlock more challenges and thus earn more points. Best of all you can play in co-op Campaign mode via LAN or on the Live.

The Multi meanwhile is very strong or even excellent and offers different modes like King of Souls or player is a demon can possess his opponents, eliminate other players to collect their souls and get points or fantastic contraction mode or you have deal with your partners to waves of enemies. Again nice surprise you can get your hands on these solo modes with bots before you embark on Live.

From a technical point of view 3 Fear is not a masterpiece and will not make you jaw-dropping but the sound atmosphere and creepy is present and some point in the game are really creepy. Shootings are super nervous and the ability to trigger a mode slows or run a slide kick that scans your opponents is very enjoyable. Enemies can be in tatters with the shotgun or with accurate shots to the head or joints strengthening nervousness fighting.

In short a very good game for those who follow the series from the beginning, a good script that unveils more about the origins of the two brothers and that will make you spend a great time either solo or multiplayer. A must before you go on vacation.
