The build quality is excellent, as with all ThruNite models that I own. The light levels are well chosen, of Firefly with nearly 1 lumens and 1200 hours of light to Level 6 with full 3,600 lumens and a huge lighting area, controlled by a magnetic wheel. From Standby mode, you can directly into the light level 6 on the one hand and in the strobe on the other side switch, which has very good tactical characteristics at hand.
On the Internet you can find excellent reviews to Beam shots and delay measurements from each multiple comparable lamps.
The TN30 is a Flodder that is, it does not cast a narrow beam of light in extreme distances, but it shines a broad range (in still a relatively large distance) (see manufacturer's instructions). This makes it very good for search missions or in crisis situations suitable when you need a lot of light on a larger surface.
Searches for a man "spotlight" you should select the TN31, throwing a narrow cone of light in the double distance as the TN30 in the latest version XM-L2 U2. Those who want more coverage, can a mod the TN31 from the US order (link follow later), the then approximately 400,000 lux eject at 1,100 m range (price about 295 $), or reaches for DEFT-X, with 1,000,000 lux the currently most powerful LED flashlight for just under $ 700.
Conclusion: the TN30 provides plenty of light for a very good price, with excellent quality. Lumens difference between the old and the new version does not bring much more light output in practice. Therefore, one can choose also reassured the older version, which is much cheaper, with the same quality.
Clear recommendation!
