I am a member of a club Observatories (beginners and even at the lower end of the knowledge scale) and also run nature observation (birds, landscapes, Planespotting etc.) with DSLR photography.

Requirements and selection of the product:
I have this Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope acquired on the basis of worldwide positive reports on the WWW.
It is intended both observation of nature and astro mix purposes (mainly planetary and lunar observation)
while its still highly portable.
And that meets the Celstron C90 erfekt and the manufacturer is applying these mobile dual purpose ability rightly on the package box!
In connection with my higher-quality tripod:
->; Redirect = true & ref_ = oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00
, A Berlebach video Neiger (not available on Amazon), and an additional high-quality eyepiece in the range 12-18mm (which included the useful 32mm Plössl supplemented) covers the "ton" the entire spectrum of natural and Astro observation as an entry in both hobbies outstanding quality for the price you pay now and in total for all less than a mid-size binoculars. (About 500)

Astronomy:
The sharpness / resolution / brightness of the moon and Jupiter is excellent in all tested Okulargrössen (10-32mm)! Due to the design color appearance and contrast are a little worse than a spotting scope or refractor telescope, but never showy but noticeable only in direct comparison.
It has my 70/700 entry-level telescope ("Lidl Telesskop") replaced more than adequately.
The mobility of the C90 is a spotting scope equal and superior to eg a 70/700 refractor or a 125mm telescope CNewton far.
---
Nature observation:
In nature observation area can be during the day with as standard) 8x21er viewfinder acceptable image upright and darken the area and sightings (an LED pointer for Astro would possibly additionally useful) and then with the 32mm series eyepiece with a pleasant 39-fold magnification as birds in 50 Watch 100m Dist.
Using a 12-15mm eyepiece (I use a good 15mm Baader eudiaskopisches Fully Coated), it is possible by the same birds still prima bring out details at 83 to 100 times. (What a spotting scope can no longer!)
A spotting scope is indeed clear and powerful, waterproof, yet portable and you can zoom smoothly, but at 60 times the end is holding the flag pole and a truly useful spotting scope will cost at least 1,700 and more (a cheaper spotting scope for 500 after unsrerer experience from the Observatory simple optical contrast scrap)
The "Celestron C90 ton" but is still good for birding transportable (backpack or small aluminum case is enough for ton plus eyepieces etc.) and optically absolutely useful.
Only the Zoom missing (zoom eyepieces for 1.25 inch Okularanscxhlüsse there that are visually but worse than fixed focal length eyepieces)
---
Photography with the C90:
Nature / Astrophotography (in my Canon EOS) is simple thanks T2 adapter thread and prima yields results when
eg an Android / Windows tablet / smartphone with high-resolution screen image control to focus the camera used.
---
Weight and mobility
My entire aluminum case with the C90 with standard accessories + 1-2 eyepieces + add. 90 degrees diagonal prism) weighs approximately 5.5kg
(will travel tripod must still included as well) and is therefore also suitable for holiday
Alternatively, a useful small backpack is also included in the reinpasst everything.
---
Conclusion:
I can thus in ergänzungzu a middle class recommend for Anmateureinsteiger in the field Astro and nature observation as an observation instrument 8x42 or 10x42 binoculars highly the C90.
A device with better price / performance ratio, it is hard to imagine.
The world's a lot of great reports from Internet users confirm this!
