As for the screen size, so I compare it to the older times EV2335 (23 "with 16: 9). Of width both monitors are unfortunately practically the same size, which is EV2436W just 0.5cm wide respect, there is practical. no difference who comes namely only to the extent to bear: there is clearly gaining workspace However, you should note that I deliberately say worktop, because in games and movies affects the compared to 16: 9. monitors higher image area unfavorable , it is more difficult to have the whole picture in mind, if you're sitting right in front of the screen, but that's clearly a matter of taste, I used to be better found 16:10 monitors, now, I think. 16: 9 for more practical.
I was particularly surprised by the great illumination because Eizo has compared to its predecessors (as the smaller EV2335, FS2331, FS2332 and FS2333) really touched up, the panel seems to me much better to have been set in the framework, halos are me not noticed only in the lower right corner there was a small piece of bright, otherwise you get a really homogeneous black. In this respect, a great plus for this monitor.
Also, the white balance is surprisingly good for einen16:. 10 24 "monitor in this price range in most tested so far from me monitors in this size was the white not very homogeneous and changed greatly between the upper and lower frame Here is unfortunately. the case, though not as dramatically, since the bottom affects the white brighter and cooler than in the top 4/5 of the screen, but it adheres comparatively limited. Unfortunately, I am what the terms but very sensitive, since I much importance considering that the White everywhere looks the same. Even if it does not interfere with the image editing or games / movies, to surf, however, sees himself or in full-screen presentations on, it immediately catches the eye. The EV2335 is definitely in this respect ahead.
When it comes to Games the EV2436W is after EV2335 in anything, it seems to me subjectively just as quickly in shooters and other fast-paced games. Schlieren and similar phenomena are not noticed in both monitors.
A special new feature compared to older monitors from Eizo is the new hybrid-dimming technology that is to keep the image flicker. And I can confirm that, both with a digital camera and with the fan test was from 1 to 100% brightness no flicker seen. What should make the monitor easy on the eyes, as strong fibrillation (as eg the EV2335 the case) in some people can cause headache.
Now I have to go, however, to the point of really bother me when EV2436W: The anti-reflective coating, so the AG coating. Because I have worked the last 2 weeks with the EV2335, which is non-reflective truly wonderful: The built-Samsung panel shows absolutely no IPS sparkle. But the EV2436W now uses an LG panel, which has been quite aggressive anti-reflective coating and the IPS-glint stands clearly in the eye after I have previously worked with the EV2335. It is roughly comparable to the Dell U2312HM. Sure you get used to it over time, yet I find that very disappointing when I think that the previous Eizo models with Samsung Display had no IPS sparkle.
Also noticed a negative to me is that the monitor has no HDMI input. In contrast, 2 USB ports we have added but, I personally would have HDMI but important. Otherwise, connections and ergonomics with the EV2335 are comparable.
Now the important question: Should one buy the monitor? The answer is clearly yes, because the EV2436W is very high quality and has an excellent image, the illumination is almost perfect. Unfortunately, the white is not quite homogeneous, strong AG coating is very disturbing and unfortunately also lacks an HDMI input. One should also note that this is a 16:10 display, not everyone likes that.
