Logitech Performance Mouse MX Cordless black (Accessories)

Customer Review

Foreword

I would like in addition to the review on the mouse itself, like to make a comparison to the Mobile Version, the Anyhere MX. I have the Anywhere MX are already in use for many years but have always bothered me on the volume of the mouse. Here are the one to mention the relatively loud clicking sounds as well as the pesky mouse wheel as a negative criterion. I am well aware that you can run the mouse wheel in the freewheeling, but so far I could not really get used to this mode me, so I always work in the latched mode. Whether the Performance MX could convince me in this regard, you can learn in the course of my review.

The first impression

The Performance MX is, as you would expect from Logitech, in a quite extravagant packaging. I would be a much simpler packaging without all the plastic waste frankly much better liked. However, this was no different for the Anywhere MX. When unpacking the mouse, I first noticed first that the mouse came with surprisingly little accessories. I had read one or the other review of mouse before and was therefore a little disappointed with the delivery. Apparently Logitech has slimmed considerably here. No bag, no power supply, ... Too bad. In any case, a great pity that no pocket for the mouse included with itself. But well, the mouse is just not designed to tell you everywhere drag with added. There are then the Anywhere MX velvet pouch.

The mouse ansich contrast very like it. In contrast to the Anywhere MX (newer batches) the mouse is almost completely held in Matt, what I like very well. Much better than my shiny Anywhere MX. The mouse works really very well made. At first impression, it is a tie. While the Anywhere MX has the luxuriant delivery, performance MX convinces with professional matte finish.

The ergonomics

Here Performance MX has clearly ahead. Note: The Performance MX is a pure right-handed mouse. The Anywhere MX can, however, also be operated with the left (side buttons, centered housing). The Performance MX is just amazing good in the hand. Just as you would expect from a mouse at this price range also. The Anyhwere MX, can not keep up here because of the mobility. The matt, slightly rough surface of the Performance MX is also well pleasant on the skin than the very smooth reflective variant of the Anywhere MX.

Functionality

Also in this category takes the performance of MX Anywhere MX them. And that has mainly two reasons that I put input in question and the person were the reason for a change for me. The noise. While the clicking sound in the Anywhere MX comparatively is very noisy, it is very pleasantly quiet in the Performance MX. Really a clear difference. Also the volume when rasterized mode the scroll wheel is much more pleasant for the Performance MX.

That one mode in the Performance MX not, as in the Anywhere MX by pressing the scroll wheel itself, but by pressing the button located in front switches for me is relatively unimportant. I use neither the function for switching the mode or the middle mouse button to often. Where I get to know the middle mouse button also just right, since there were none in the Anywhere MX. What bothers me, however, currently on the Performance MX is the fact that I now have no permanent contact with the thumb to the forward / backward buttons more. In the Anywhere MX thumb was constantly at this rocker. In the Performance MX, however, the thumb is constantly at the new zoom button. The fore / aft rocker sits above the Zoom button. Thus, you have to really to jump forward or backward just to make with his thumb a short way. May not sound so bad, but that bothers me already. It's quite possible that I get used to it, but I do not think it's nice. The forward / back or jumping, especially in the browser, I need just more common than the zoom button, which, incidentally, like all the other buttons can be freely assigned.
The Programmumschalttaste which can be actuated by a push down the wing with your thumb is well placed and easy to operate pleasant. Just enough so that there are no accidental clicks.

As for the pointer properties take both mice in my subjective perception nothing. I can work well with both. The Performance MX is, however, better suited just for working longer. By contrast, the Anywhere MX is perfect for mobile use.

What I do not like on the Anywhere MX is the fact that the Left / Right and rockers of the mouse wheel give absolutely no feedback. It feels totally vague and you do not know if you have the key really pressed or not. In comparison, the Anywhere MX here has a clear pressure point. That, unfortunately, I do not like.

Summary and Conclusion

I would like to take this opportunity, in short the positive and negative points that struck me at the Performance MX to summarize before I draw my conclusion after.

Positive noticed is me ..

Very good workmanship *
Pleasant Click / and wheel-noise (see. Anywhere MX is noisier)
Matt surface (see. Anywhere MX is glossy)
Pleasant high weight (Anywhere with either two cells also pleasantly difficult)
True on / off switch (also available in the Anywhere)
Charging the mouse via USB, possible during operation

* Whether it is also used in my model for "double problem", I can not say date. Should it really happen again, I will rework the review.

The one negative I ...

No feedback when left / right rocker of the mouse wheel (Anywhere with clear pressure point)
No permanent connection between your thumb and fore / aft rocker *
USB cable is intended exclusively for charging (despite Unifying USB cable required)

* The zoom button should have been replaced with the MMN back / rocker

Thus I come to the following conclusion:

The Performance MX is for the purpose for which it is intended, namely the stationary use at a desk suitable outstanding. She indulges the hand and downright spoiled with fine workmanship. The faint noise during operation (mouse wheel, keys) are a true blessing. It would have been nice if, instead of one, two Eneloop cells were stowed in the housing. But all in all it does away with some flaws that I had at the Anywhere MX. Unfortunately, however, a few things are worse done than the mobile brother. So is given absolutely no feedback when you press the mouse wheel to left / right, what pressing buttons can be very insecure. For the current price of about 60 (I got them even a flash available on Amazon for $ 49) is the mouse definitely a dream for the domestic or professional work. If the mouse, many years doing their service without hesitation, and I presume, then the Performance MX is an absolute buy recommendation!
