Actually, I do not write reviews, but this time I feel obliged, after this long search, share my surprise.
The Samsung Diary met my expectations to the fullest satisfaction. One point deduction there because of the slightly excessive price (about 34).
The processing is not only good, but great and tailored to the smallest detail on the Note 10.1. Unfortunately, there are not enough pictures to assess this before buying, but I can say from me that I was very pleasantly surprised. The exterior is a tacky feel and acts wertig what the Note 10.1 gives a special style. Actually bother me always all these "Samsung" and inscriptions etc., but here it emphasizes the exceptional product. And there is a special tablet (for me that productivity Tablet for S-Pen), the external underline "Galaxy Note 10.1" can remain quite.
Inside there is a web that supports the first external impression. The back of the tablet and the screen is protected in this envelope from the fleece (to protect more later). The back of the case like it even better than the naked back of the Note 10.1. The cutouts for the camera and flash are so well made that you do not recognize at first glance that it is a shell. The handling is also a lot of grip.
The functionality as unfolding, writing and presentation position received from me a well. Contrary to many more negative reviews on this point, I am very satisfied. They are here to find a compromise solution between thinner & lighter shell and state function. For me it is clear that it can not be bombproof, but you would have to use a thicker (more cumbersome) construction, as they are seen in the leather bags such as Goodstyle. Therefore, it should be taken here also to decide whether a more stand the stability or compactness (and weight) are more important.
For me, the shell is not a real cover, what I did not expect. Although the thicker leather bags offer a slightly higher protection because the shock effect can be taken more, but that into perspective, if the part gets dropped from one meter ... there are absolute protection so do not if you use the tablet as a mobile device , For increased protection, there are special cases, such as sleeves, etc., in which one the Note 10.1 Extra into packs. Such I'm going to still set. My notebook I prefer indeed no plastic coating on to then weighed me to safety. But I also have a shock-proof bag.
The writing position is very good, does not slip on most surfaces and it stands up. Again, of course, is to find any non-plus ultra solution, because then you should just use the laptop and do not expect all possible attributes of a mobile device such as a tablet. The tablet itself is already a compromise and never a substitute for a real desktop computer or notebook.
However, the presentation function is actually some getting used to and should always be installed with care. Those who observe this, but does nothing wrong. Here just comes back to the point game, if one wants a more stable state function or a rather light weight. I find that here under the given conditions a very good solution was created. Design flaws or defects I do not recognize.
CONCLUSION: The Samsung Diary gives the Note 10.1 a very particular style that has to be experienced to. It need not be everyone's taste. Who expects a shell à la iPad will be disappointed because there is nowhere such solutions (there are no metal like on the iPad, to which one could attach a shell magnetic). Samsung is setting its own accents and me personally this shell like it very much. The case provides a great compromise between a low thickness, reduced weight (hardly noticeable) and functionality as state functions.
For me, the purchase was worthwhile and would recommend it to anyone who is not averse in principle from the style.
