The transmitter (the trick with the button) is really designed to be watertight.
One tip though: when you open and close the transmitter please have a flat knife round toe box (or similar tool) to pry the plastic locking clip. The case has indeed a seal that must not be damaged or move or pinching.
There is a choice of 36 tunes (this is more than enough in my opinion) - the top right button (behind the receiver).
Tip: Each press of the button changes melody (no need to wait until the previous is finished). Note in passing the (or melodies) you prefer on a piece of paper and count the pressures (your setting will be faster).
We also have the choice of 3 levels of chime volume (the highest is really strong) - the highest knob slightly to the left.
Tip: Select a level and go listen in the farthest corner from home. And select the lowest audible level (the highest level naturally distorts the sound a bit, because of the size of the speaker).
The frequency transceiver are a priori agreement (in my case). But if the bell-chime does not work: do not panic - must be given transmitter and receiver (which is easy). Simultaneously press the doorbell button and agree behind the receiver button (the button below the two set the volume and melody). When it works, release the button first agreement, and immediately after, the doorbell button.
The installation of the bell, and very easy: you glue by double-sided tape (which looks quite robust).
Tip: Do not drill the bell housing to secure it with a screw (you would put in danger the sealing).
The carillon has a warning light (for hearing impaired). This alarm can be disabled by a 3 position selector (bright - bright + audio - audio only).
A priori one small downside: the transmitter battery is a flat battery (thus a priori expensive) but still thick enough and good diameter.
In summary a great product because (1) easily adjustable-adjustable and (2) of solid construction.
