My old AKG headphones strong suit me well, but it was starting to age and therefore foams were not very effective ...
So I looked for a replacement within a price range of 100 to 200 ...
At first I tested the "Beat by Dr. Dre", saying that if everyone bought them, there was definitely a reason. Nini ... that I was extremely disappointed with the basic sound quality. That's good, but not top looks like another. The sound is good of course, but flat, without roundness or special character. I felt a lack of bass and treble. In short, only the mediums were well represented.
Then comes the turn of the new AKG K450. This time, no surprise, the sound is good, round and warm with highs still well represented. Overall a great helmet, but that seemed a little less robust than my previous AKG headband with metal.
This is what occurred Marshall and his legendary expertise. I quickly interested in this helmet through the various photos and reviews on the net, without ever trying it. Indeed, I have not found a dealer who offered his test ... In short, I would never have bought this helmet without trying, especially since the "low" price and any commercial aspect me frightened. It has therefore given me for my birthday ... and there, surprise, the headset is very well finished, and its retro look is more pleasant. The thread seems robust and cousins pleasant or very pleasant. Last, aesthetics, little reminders related to Marshall amps really gives the impression that the firm has kept the presentation. Ditto for packaging that is very well studied.
Now to the most important point, the sound! Again, a nice surprise for the price ... The Marshall did much better than the "Beat" with a well-distributed frequency range. The helmet is doing very well obviously in the Rock, but it is just as versatile as my old AKG (yes ... the benchmark for me). Although serious are less present, they are largely sufficient, unless one is looking for "boom boom" in the head! ;)
Anyway, back to our Marshall for which I can not find one and only complaint: they could provide cover to protect it and transport it.
To conclude, the best headphones I've had to date, with a stunning aesthetics (good to love ...) and its well distributed with a light touch Marshall! Pleasant, cheap and well done!
But if your budget is unlimited, I can not advise you the Bowers & Wilkins P5 headphones (299) which has superb sound. The best is still to try the helmet before purchasing it.
