[Update: Please be sure the supplement bellow!]
a) The player is connected fast, handy, stable. No sooner had all turned on and booted up the recorder, you could be directly browse the channel list for stations. The relatively quick and takes 80% of the station name. The names and positions of the transmitters can be later very easy and comfortable to change and adapt (since I was the first time positively surprised by the software). When changing the program numbers you see the current station in a small window (~ 40%) - very handy! HDMI is also there, but I could not test for lack of compatible TV.
b) The optics convinced as they say. The Player adheres to 90% in black, little silver button in the middle. The sticker on the top looks as if you could remove it easily; but does not look so bad that you would have to necessarily do.
c) The remote control has, in my opinion, the stigma that some functions (VIDEO Plus +, Time Shift, 0-9, TV / DVD switch) are hidden behind a flap at the lower end of Fb. This flap can be opened not easy. Positive or negative - hard to say. It depends on how often you switch or would like to use the functions. I would have liked a little easier to open it or without flap. Otherwise, the buttons in the upper 2/3 are large, beautiful apart / sorted not too dense and easy / clear.
d) The programming of recordings is pretty simple, made quickly and intuitively. Unfortunately, no EPG is. But you can use a variety of PC software to find the program even without magazine.
e) During the recording you can simultaneously play media from the hard disk. Big plus! A small minus point I have to directly add back because the end of a recording the Abpsielen is stopped. This would certainly not have to be. So you have the movie you've just seen, reload and fast forward to the point. Time Shift is working properly. At the bottom of the screen you see whenever you are pauses or plays, how far you still lags and still be considered. 1a!
f) The total menu is very well done, responds quickly and is straightforward. The overview in the captured media is very pretty. Again we see a ~ 40% view the titles that are organized in 3x2 columns. If you click a video, you get to the next menu, where you play back the title, delete, edit, or can fast forward to a particular time (clock). When editing, you can crop the video, or merge it with another video. Useful when you have the first seen in series two episode and want to remove them from the video, to later not to have to fast-forward, or if you have two films received loud program guide one after another, but the first movies 3min in the second film goes in, or andersrum.
g) I have the recorder, among other things bought, because you can view on a USB stick directly videos. This feature is really outstanding! You need to connect the stick only to the front socket and to choose from the menu. Then you have the options to view the video directly, or to copy the movie to your hard drive. Copying takes unfortunately some time (~ 20 minutes for 700MB), but should be fairly normal for USB speeds. Unfortunately, the USB drive will only work if is not being recorded.
Conclusion:
After two weeks in use I would never miss it on again. My favorite TV that I can not see because of activities, I draw on my weekly recording. Time Shift lets nothing to be desired (can not be permanently store) and often is used. It is annoying sometimes that I roll over the Fb and with two hands must press on the flap. USB stick compatibility succeeded. Menu navigation and operation are top - that I had * ever * want from such a device, and one has to wonder why that was not for 10 years with VCRs so; After all, the Scart cable, or connection has not changed anything. The manual is easy to understand, who still has one or the other question to the device.
All in all I recommend to anyone who would like to have a 250GB drive and a very good mid-range device, this copy. I am convinced and will be happy so long surely.
[Update]
After I now own the unit for about six months and me for the World Cup, after the recorder, an HD TV bought, I must say that the recorder is no longer worth much. Since he controls no up-scaling, 90% of all TV programs are to look without glasses. I recommend everyone at least to buy a HD recorder or with up-scaling property. From another, old equipment, I urgently advise if you buy an HD TV in the next few years or even a has.
