The WX80 is as small as the Ixus models, very handy, so I have normal-sized hands and no problems with all keys.
In the menu, everything is self-explanatory, have been no manual required.
I was especially pleased the standard Micro-USB charging / sync port (works with any mobile phone recharger, thus you can save an extra specific cable as with other manufacturers (Canon / Olympus), while copying the images to the PC loads the battery even on) ...
Wifi works right away and easily: When 1.Wlan Start the camera shows a link below this the narrow PlayMemories Home software tool be downloaded to the PC kann.Software install camera to 1. Start Connecting via USB, the camera search the network, stores and then it works each time you connect via mass storage ...
Also on the smartphone / tablet: install PlayMemories from store, connect to WLAN (the app enabled WLAN at Tab / Phone himself and also disabled at back end) and there you go. Quite funny is the remote control, I see in the Tab / Phone exactly what the camera is in image and can take my photos / films trigger / take over the phone. Likewise, I can transfer images to the camera or from the camera on the phone ....
Most important is the image quality and this is excellent, very lively, vigorous, sharp great pictures makes the little (compared to the Ixus as were all pale, dull, colorless and therefore yes schwammig- the return), I would even say better as my Olympus SZ31 ... the autofocus works very quickly, ideal for snapshots.
In the menu for recording, there are many gadgets / Scene Modes / P- for your own settings and 2 automatic mode, the me perfectly adequate for great pictures, everything I've snapped "fast" on which was sharp and vivid ...
The most important settings are stored directly on the wheel, the rest of the menu button, which is all very quick and pleasant.
The WX80 is a gift for my son, who has a small digital camera with Wi-Fi complement its smartphones desired, I think he has his joy hereby ;-)
Out of sheer enthusiasm, I got myself for me still the WX200 (sister model with slightly better facilities (10x zoom, 18MP (actually unnecessary), conspicuously better, sharper display and in my eyes a little better processing (in the WX80 are above and bottom of the chassis a little gap dimensions (plastic?) I can squeeze that has WX200 this is not and I think aluminum? ... but otherwise in size, image quality, and service are both the same.
I have read the WX80 in white, (although nice, but was a mistake: piano paint, very fingerprint-prone), the WX200 in black (silver was not there) and also the black WX80 are not piano black but matt and therefore not as fingerprint-prone. ..
Anyone with high expectations in processing and equipment had better equal access to WX200, otherwise the WX80 just fine .... I hope I could help you with your decision a little
