First I thought of a mini PC, but it is not really relevant. And then I came across this tablet ... I use it for over 3 months now, and it completely meets my aspirations!
First the keyboard: it actually allows comfortable typing. It is very slightly below a keyboard laptop power, but it's still very easy to enter long text, it is even almost a pleasure! Asus manufacturing quality is at the rendezvous!
But beware: the office suite provided below is really everything! I tried a few, without finding my happiness ... not obvious to find Android applications that actually supports keyboard shortcuts! I ended up throwing my heart on DroidEdit, a text editor but rather oriented code that supports all the shortcuts you can imagine, it is a joy!
The standard mail client limits the width of the writing area, it's a little moron ... (but there are many email clients on Android!)
Use "office", the touch is really nice, and on a screen of this size (not too big) is probably the most suitable. The trackpad is always there if you need precise selection but personally never had to use it, it is disabled permanently.
The huge plus point of this machine: its autonomy! Done enough hallucinating I recharge more than 1 time per week, for 8 to 10 hours of video plus 2 to 3 hours of email / facebook / firefox.
The last options available in Android 4.2 (cut off screen network in particular) allow the permanently lit leave. And that's really what to do because otherwise the machine is very, very, very long to start (everything is relative of course, but it puts almost 1mn, more than 2 times longer than my pc Windows 7 equipped a ssd). In standby, the lighting is obviously immediate! Immediate ignition craziest autonomy: a new computer opens up to you!
Something else, connectors available is very significant: port my micro sd for SD, USB port! Totally awesome!
In the defects, I have noted that 2, and they are very small:
- Lacks a little indentation making the opening of all simple keyboard-shelf (but if it is not particularly complicated)
- The on / off button is a bit too exposed when transporting the machine in a bag ... a shame.
