I highly reccomend this clear and fascinating book. It can be of great service to students approaching this subject and enthusiasts who wish to update their knowledge about this fascinating period of history. This book is reintroducing the event and political history, unjustly shunned in most of the last century by the Annales school and movement, but by having the intelligence to preserve the gains of the latter, with presentations brilliant cross on structures, -urbaines, religieuses- of the Capetian society. With a serious erudition, this book also deserves to be well written and practical, thanks to its many Annexes (annotated bibliography, maps, genealogies, index ...).
