Although the 30 times zoom is nice - but the maximum zoom you actually need only rarely. and if the images are to be good, a small tripod is indispensable. Although the stabilizer does a good job - but does not prevent any blurring. with tripod It's much better. with much light it gits good pictures - with less light it gets noisy but very quickly. there are times zoom the better the much smaller Canon IXUS cameras with example 5. in nahbreich although you can answer it to 1 cm close - but that still remains very small object and it is very often not focused properly. additional zoom is not possible because when you want to have sharp photo. the flash has a strange and complicated mechanics repeatedly caused a scare when jumping out. permanent shutdown does not seem possible. after turning off / on the automatic flash mode is active again. the 180 and 360 degree panorama function works very well, however. the startup time is too short - it takes something to the long tube is extended. Also good: the zoom when shooting works well - the video function in general is very well done - but unfortunately that was not my main focus. very big letdown is the Nikon wireless tool. not on iPad - that almost no funtioniert on iphone. how can nikon apply something? ... Not useful at least for 9700. I thought about the cam to return therefore :-( updates also there none. more than 1 photo, I can not be transferred to iPhone :-(
I would not buy me this camera again - the image quality is only on the level of 100 euro compact cameras - just stop with the large zoom .... the 9700 is twice as large as a small IXUS. it may of course be that you can get more out if you set everything manually - but I'm not actually bought the cam. I was looking for a cam for snapshots in good image quality and zoom occasional applications - they have unfortunately not found in 9700. possibly, the Sony, Canon or Panasonic better ....
