Experiences at the 1DsMkIII

I use this lens on a my 1DsMkIII. My favorite areas are People and Cityscapes. This is my first Canon lens with image stabilization - one of the reasons why I have brought this lens. The scope of delivery is typical L completely - that is, lens, lens hood and lens pouch. The workmanship is very high quality, albeit with a lot of plastic. That to me is a bit unusual since my other lenses since have more metal - but the weight remains relatively low (I have otherwise mostly the 85L or my 50 / 1.0 at the camera - both have a good kilos ....). The 1 is thus very well balanced with the lightweight. ;)

The lens is weather sealed and has a seal on the bayonet. When I look at the front lens so look (screwed) I think that one of complete tightness Protect a filter (67 mm thread) should unscrew it. The autofocus is a macro amazingly fast and you can the Fokusierweg in 3 ways limit to match the intended application: Full, from 0.5m - infinity and macro range of 0.3m - 0.5m. For this reason you can not only use for macro lens.

Now for image quality: they blew me away - it's that simple :) The best I've been taken out of my sensor out and the already open.. It has a little Randabdunklung openly but which for me is not annoying - so should be about 1-2 stops at f4, it is almost impossible to see. The bokeh is excellent, it does not tend to blooming - especially if one has the GeLi plan. This is quite deep and therefore very effective - but I think that we thus already comes very close for macro applications to the subject -> This should be quite impressed and small animals flee. ;) The sharpness is just madness - otherwise I can not describe it. In portrait photography that is almost too much of a good. Yes, I know - you can make softer it always, not sharper. But you should be aware that you need either models with perfect skin / Visa or halt more needs to work in PS .....
The image stabilization works well - used in remote area normally he really teaching me the 4 stops when I ne steady hand a little more - impressive. Even when the MFD 1-2 stops are within easy reach and a great help.

All in all a 5 star shard which I will be very happy to use!
