Aaronovitch writes freely and is seasoned. The language is more fluid than in the first volumes, the punchlines sitting accurate (even if the stereotype is perhaps endeavor from sarcastic cops about fee). The well-known characters are sketched accurately and win some quite in depth. Newcomers will be provided not always enough help, so better start forward! The city as the protagonist gets a little less lively than in the precursors, too bad! The end has given me mental difficulties: Which "deal"? If all had gone according to plan, Grant would have anyway ...? Otherwise: The usual sloppiness in foreign languages. That will not bother most readers on; On the other hand I wonder if it would proofreading cost so much time to have a look about Lore. Conclusion: Pleasant summer reading for fans, small weaknesses.
