The Vanguard convinced with stability and above all great flexibility. The first installation of the camera on the tripod led to great astonishment. With extended center column and battery grip, the camera will not fit through my apartment door and without losing much stability. D800 with grip and lens, it holds tight and stable.
Especially practical, I also think the small toolkit which is attached to the tripod. It can be used to pull the screws or attach one of two supplied quick release plates on the camera or remove.
The bag can be the good thing also easily transported and easily. My old stand was about 3 times as hard, so I've also but no direct comparison with other more current tripods.
Otherwise, the camera can align wonderfully quickly and easily. Only those who want to take advantage of the center column in the horizontal should hold his camera well, since the center column once must be pulled out completely and resolved to change the mode.
For the price to find such a versatile tripod I think hard. I would buy it again.
