As was said, the strips have white spikes and are not really transparent.
I put it in marble stairs off-white color. Aesthetically it's very discreet. By cons I do not necessarily put it in a dark staircase if the goal is that it is not seen.
The installation of the self-adhesive tape could not be easier and faster.
It looks to fulfill its function without being disagreeable in bare feet.
