The charger charges all my equipment on very quickly, at the same time. I use it every day for three months now. Ports are no dead. Noise I can perceive when loading at best if I keep my ear to the device. The device consumes at idle (if it is not charging) only about 0.2 watts. A plugging and unplugging therefore not worth it, you can just leave connected.
