Well, there are already a lot of reviews on this SSD drive. Most are positive, but hang 'I mean here. In my Dell Precision M4400 with T9600 (XP Pro 32 bit) a fairly brisk HDD (WD 2500BJKT) was in it, but since I drive quite severe Software guns (Sampler, Composing software), and the plate was sometimes guilty of short stoppages by to produce vast amounts of data, I decided to bite the bullet, and to eliminate this bottleneck. The SSD was delivered within a few days of Amazon to Austria, and contained the ordered Notebook Upgrade Kit, which only the additional SATA-USB interface was important for me, the software Northon Ghost interests me less after the notebook already the free Acronis True Image WD Edition is installed, with whom I have had good experiences. Therefore, step one, append the new SSD via the adapter to USB, is recognized immediately, going well and then started using Acronis hard disk copy. The course lasts for a plentiful stuffed disk (170 GB) USB 2.0 its time (a few hours). Step two, shut down notebook, remove old HDD, install new HDD, where the enclosed Mounting Spacer does a good job, because the new disc is thinner than the old. Then switch notebook again, the Bios whines a bit, and voila, the OS starts, then comes the desktop, ready. Clearly, everything runs much faster, for example, a freeware synth which invites small files when starting about 1000, and has previously used forever, is now finished less than a second, tenfold access speed is thanks. These disturb the continuous writing and reading of certain programs and the OS itself the operation is no longer noticeable. One thing is certain XP 32Bit no longer quite the right system for a SSD. But I have now (after about 3 weeks) the Samsung Magician installed and let the OS Optimizations drüberlaufen and there the Temporary File Cleanup done, probably to replace TRIM in XP. Firmware update is not necessary, since the plate with the GNTB. CXM03B1Q latest firmware has been shipped. Oh, and by the lower power consumption keeps my somewhat lame notebook battery last longer by about 10 minutes. And finally: In the new, rather bad vibration damped Railjets ÖBB I now no longer afraid of a head crash. So everything in the open area, down to my credit card statement ;-)
