Need the part for travel. For me the Manfrotto 055PROB is too heavy and too big. Have fluctuated between the Manfrotto befree and this. The C5i received due to the many positive reviews here preference, though I still had to buy an Arca-Swiss compatible plate for the camera. I would rather have stayed at the RC2-200PL because I also have several Manfrotto heads and many Arca-Swiss plates seemed somewhat opaque. Unlike the 200PL is the Arca-Swiss apparently somewhat problematic with compatibility.
First impression of tripod and head seem to be useful. I take swabs for the small pack size and weight into account, especially for the price. For occasional trips with a Nikon DX without battery grip and relatively lightweight glass it will go well if you let the center column and possibly the lower legs in it. Since I would take to travel no 70-200 / 2.8 or 80-400 telephoto zoom it should go. Intensive practice test is pending, therefore the time being 4 stars for the first impression.
