The Samsung recorder is something hakelig to use a more powerful computer would have made the work easier for the user. So it is already now and then, always nice with the rest.
The menus are somewhat understandable maintained, without the need to have the BDA at hand all the time. That's a good thing. The initial setup including tuning works just fine, also the station sorting makes little effort.
The TV recordings via cable.- & DVB-T are impeccable in quality. The 160GB HDD offers Aufnahmekapizität for several hours, even in the highest quality.
Positive noticed me so far also, the low noise level and the extensive exclusion facilities.
Now for the very big minus point of the device.
One can, as already known, record TV recordings on the HDD or directly to a DVD-R / DVD-RW. To edit the recordings that have been saved to the hard drive, takes some practice and "savvy technicians" have to resort to the manual, because the menu names are not well translated. Therefore, the operator is not to be described as intuitive.
If you've finally a recording cut (eg advertising away from a movie), one stands before the actual disaster. Samsung allowed in its use ONLY to transfer the recording to a DVD!?!?! Why ??? The HDD recorder, with its USB port, the ability to connect an external HDD, only it can not dub recorded TV recording, and then with several films to produce later on a PC DVD plan.
That is absolute nonsense. When asked on the fabulous Samsung Service said this: "... to ensure the protection of the rights holders." What does please because that now for a difference if I burn the TV recordings directly to DVD or do this only at the PC ??? Logic: zero !!!
This is again one of a number of experiences with the Samsung support. Bottommost drawer of this club.
As I said, the operation is a little peace-oriented, otherwise the instrument is to use very well.
