Structure:
One has to be aware that you also need the following things: min. 5 hose clamps, connecting hose to the pool, connecting hose for skimmer, emptying hose, sealing tape, also recommended: "sealing grease" for the rubber seals.
For assembling you do not need the guidance in principle. The filter cover all tube outputs are labeled, the hose from the skimmer comes logically to the prefilter of the pump with a transparent sight glass. In connection with the above mentioned utensils the facility was without major reworking densely, the remaining mini-leaks were done by a little firmer tightening - which was already a huge difference to its predecessor. Although the components are all made of plastic, but you never have the feeling that somehow can destroy something screwing together because everything feels pretty dibasic. Except for the mounting of clamps you need no additional tools, an Allen for the closure of the clamping ring on the filter cover is included. For tightening the screw of the plastic parts, the force of the hands is enough.
Of particular note is of course the built-in pump prefilter - priceless when working with a pool vacuum. Otherwise, the entire extracted coarse dirt would be equal to the sand filter and worse, this could impose the impeller of the pump - as happened with its predecessor. Also handy to the supplied pressure gauge, which is incorporated into the emptying into the filter cover in addition to the hose connections. According to the manufacturer of the filter is to be a backwash at increasing the pressure by 2 ticks. Also nice: a Zirkuliereinstellung, ie the water is indeed circulated through the pump, but not passed through the filter.
Commissioning:
After starting the pump then the first light bulb moment: very smoothly, quietly and above all, a peak throughput.
First allowed to the sand by rinsing and flushed back then, so that it continues in the filter, otherwise one has, if one makes the mistake to operate the pump equal to a filter position, a pile of sand in the pool! Correct commissioning but is described in the manual.
The water is very well rolled in my pool with 3.66 m diameter at 1.20m height. I have the slice diagonally aligned to the left, so that the entire pool water making a circular motion. The pump is so strong that right small vortices at the pool manager will be visible. Then after connecting the pool the next sucker AHA experience: thanks to the very good pump throughput problems was finally cleaning the substrate possible. Previously, this was more of a dirt pushed together under gravity ...
The pump 7000 liters / hour throughput with a power consumption of 250 W. This is a good compromise between performance and power consumption. Pumps with more water flow rate have a much higher power consumption (some 500 W and more) and would be useful only in much larger pools. With 30 minutes twice daily use a manageable consumption, at a really perfect filter result.
I am with the system so completely satisfied. Very good performance and quality at a favorable purchase price. Now the system must only provide longevity to the test. I will therefore update my review if necessary.
Update 28/07/14:
After almost a year operating a brief progress; the system is basically flawless, no quirks, no leaks, no failures. Am still very satisfied.
