After the MFT cameras have been getting better, it was high time for Panasonic to offer an adequate kit 3X zoom lens. At my G3 it brings high sharpness in picture center, easily dimmed even at the edges. So I love that. With the old standard zoom I had often annoying edge blur in landscape and architectural photos. The new 14-42 (indicated by the non-inverted lens name) has become smaller and lighter. When zooming, it goes to the WW and telephoto range a few mm, and is shortest at 25mm. Good thing. Due to these positive features I have not just sold my old 14/42, but also the outstanding good 20mm / 1.7 (without stabilizer).
