Helloween had after the two "Keepers" albums a really difficult time - there have been some disputes within the band and eventually even death of drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg. Therefore was the quality of the albums "Pink Bubbles Go Ape" and "Chameleon" not too high - although I would not call these albums as bad - they are just experimental. Likewise, the then published CD "Master Of The Rings" - it is good, but not a screamer. "The Time Of The Oath", however, has become an all-around great album that you can listen to again and again. The opener "We Burn" is already powerful from and "Steel Tormentor" has catchy and is kind of funny, like "Anything My Mama Do not Like", "Wake Up The Mountain" or "Power". The typical, like belonged speed metal with the beautiful melodies brand Helloween. These songs are just fun - without that they were merely a copy of "Keepers" albums or "Walls Of Jericho". The ballad "Forever And One" is indeed get very commercial, but still well suited to sing along and unpack the lighter. Even better, however, I think "If I Knew" - install the organ there was a very good idea who has made proven itself in the atmosphere of the song. But best of all is the title track, which offers an ultra tight riffing, as it was not difficult to hear when Helloween previously - that should be continued, however, in the subsequent albums "Better Than Raw" and "The Dark Ride". All in all: It's both the old quality available to identify and further development. Great! A few words to Andi Deris to all who complain about him: Hear finally that! Andi Deris has a very extensive and versatile voice, although he may not be as high as is Michael Kiske. He is also a songwriter begandeter.
